Tiger Woods – What a disappointment

Tiger Woods - GutlessGod I hate writing about this.

I like golf.  I like Tiger Woods.  Well…at least I DID like Tiger Woods.  I have lost all respect for this guy over the last few days — and it’s probably not for the reason some might think.

Ok – understand this – I’m not giving him a pass or making excuses – but I can understand, and I believe most people can understand, the circumstances and situations a world famous 33-year old billionaire that travels the world can find himself in.  I get that.  I also understand that as human beings we all make mistakes – usually on a daily basis – that’s just the way it is here on the Third Rock.

I’m certainly no fan of David Letterman – but give the guy some credit – he sat his butt in front of millions of people – acknowledged what he did – apologized for it – and took it like a man.  He didn’t even bother to enroll into one of those silly rehab centers on the West Coast.  Forget what he did — the way he handled it in public was the way it should have been handled – he marched his butt right back to the studio the next day and did his show.  He’s not missed a beat since and he didn’t crash his career.  Kudos to Letterman.

Tiger on the other hand is handling his situation like a little 13-year old girl.  He’s weak.  He isn’t deserving to even be mentioned in the same breath as “sports” or “athlete”.  He’s gutless.  He’s spineless.  I detest this little boy now.  Make a mistake —- we all do.  Crash and burn your career and everything else – only the weakest of the weak end up doing that.  Unless there is something happening out there that we in the general public isn’t aware of — this guy is about as low as you can get.

Why?  He’s a spoiled little brat.  Mommy and Daddy have been coddling and protecting him since he was a toddler and he’s never had to face reality.  He has lived in lala land for so long with his Dad making every decision for him – once his father passed away – that was it.  He couldn’t handle the real world.  His spineless personality began to leak out.

So – I have no idea what I’m talking about here.  I’m not in the medical or health industry – I don’t know Tiger personally – I suck at golf – I’m not a celebrity.  I’m basing everything I said on what I’ve read and how I perceive it.  I’m like the other 299 million of us out there – I have an opinion.

And there it is…

  1. My little humble opinion is that if it was me or you (or my husband) none of the 299 million would give a flying rat’s butt about it. I for one am sick of hearing about him sleeping around with his wife. I couldn’t care less about his extra marital affairs.

Sure, I agree that he should have stood up and admitted once the cat was out of the bag, but he also wanted to handle this privately between he and his wife. The 299 million of us should have kept our noses out of this, or should I be directing this to the media who don’t want to focus in on the good things that happen in our lives!

    Just my .02 worth.

  2. I agree Jennifer – I’m getting tired of hearing about it. We’re not done yet – one by one as the sponsors drop him we’ll be getting another ear full.

I guess this stuff sells. Heck – I wrote a blog about it! lol

  3. Well, as Dennis and Jen know, I just might have an opinion here. In my life I’ve been around a few celebrities and professional athletes and people who were on their way to becoming professional athletes. To me there is at least one common thread. We, Americans, enable them to be the over protected, over paid, over egoed, usually over sexed, sometimes over medicated, self-centered out of touch with reality spoiled brats that they generally are. There are some that are close to “normal”, but by and large their lifestyle since their talent was discovered at an early age sheltered them from the normal bruising regular life provides to keep us humble. If we, as Americans, would use our ability to choose and not give a rat’s butt about them on TV or the radio or the internet or the newspaper, a lot of it would come to an end. BUT, unfortunately, too many of us get our “news” from TMZ, People Magazine, The Enquirer, etc. If we spent half as much time paying attention to those people who can and do effect our daily lives (read in congress, state legislature, county commissions, mayors), our lives would improve dramatically. Tiger Woods? From what I can see, his second biggest mistake (after the double digit bimbo – a – thon) is teaching his wife the concept of follow thru. That’s my opinion and I’m sticking to it.

  4. I can’t imagine John Miller having an opinion. lol

You are right – it’s all of us that allow these little spoiled brats to do what they want – whether they are the high school quarterback or the greatest golfer of all time.

I have to go now — TMZ is coming on.
