In the blink of an eye…
For those of you who don’t know our family had a very tragic event over the holiday and this has been the most difficult few days of my life. We’ve all heard the saying that things can change “in the blink of an eye”…well…it can. It did.
Thursday night my brother’s oldest son was a passenger in an SUV that was involved in a rollover accident. The driver, 19 year old Kelsey Shepley was killed and the accident has left my nephew in critical condition – on life-support at the Athens Regional Medical Center ICU.
I want to thank everyone who has given support to my family. There have been phone calls, email messages, FaceBook posts, MySpace messages, Twitter messages, people at the hospital…it has been phenomenal. My brother and his family need more support as they go forward with an unknown future…
I’ll be posting updates when warranted on my FaceBook page: http://www.facebook.com/dennislynn
In closing I would like to ask everyone to do two things for me…
1) Understand that the statement “in the blink of an eye” is as true as it gets. Hundreds…thousands of lives can be changed in the blink of an eye. Take that little phrase very seriously.
2) Whether you are pulling out of the driveway or driving across the country – Please…PLEASE…use your seatbelt. Don’t ever take anything for granted when it comes to safety in an automobile.
