This really isn’t a huge deal for me but I felt like I ought to throw an opinion out there…

I just don’t think a sitting President should be a guest on The Tonight Show.  I can’t put my finger on why exactly but I think it has something to do with my opinion that it diminishes the office.  Maybe it doesn’t.  It’s one thing to relate to the masses but it’s quite another thing to jump down in the middle of the masses…I’m not so sure the President shouldn’t be somewhat aloof and distant from us regular folks.

I thought it was great when the candidates hit the talk show circuit – I have no problem with that.

I have to say…I can also see the other side of the argument.  It’s pretty cool that the President can hang out with the rest of us and seem like a normal guy.  But he ain’t.  Let’s face it, he’s the most powerful man on Earth.

I guess this is one of those things that I don’t care enough about to be passionate – maybe just enough to throw out a weak little opinion.
