Ok…so South Carolina isn’t taking any stimulus money.  What a moronic idiot.

COLUMBIA, S.C. — South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford on Wednesday became the first governor to reject some of his state’s share of President Obama’s economic-stimulus money, spurning $700 million that Sanford said would harm his state’s residents in the long run. Read article here

Does this guy understand that the taxpayers of South Carolina will STILL have to pay for the stimulus?  Does he understand that South Carolina has the second worst unemployment rate in the nation?

The time for bickering, arguing, and debating the stimulus package is behind us – they won.  It’s here.  It’s law.  Why would this guy punish the people of South Carolina over his own personal political ideology?  I know…I know…there are strings attached to the money…blah…blah…blah…you can always make a political argument over any issue but in my opinion this is absolutely ridiculous.

Once again…if this guy is the future of the GOP…they are in big trouble.
