President Obama Speech

So if you have not been in office but a few weeks they don’t called it the “State of the Union” address. I didn’t know that. Seems to me that anyone of us could give a talk entitled “The State of the Union”…I really don’t see how the time you’ve been in office would have an impact on what you would say.

President Obama is on par with Ronald Reagan when it comes to delivering a speech. He makes you like him even if you don’t agree with him. I give him an A+ for style, delivery, timing, and presentation.

With regards to substance…maybe I’m just not smart enough to figure out how spending a trillion dollars will help our economy. Obviously there are folks a whole lot smarter than I am making those decisions. (I hope)

The GOP is in trouble. If Bobby Jindal is their answer, they are in deep, deep trouble. That was without a doubt the worst response to a Presidential address I’ve ever heard – by anyone – in any party. It was awful. My prediction is that his hopes for ever being elected President were dashed in those 12 minutes. I’ve seen this guy on TV a gazillion times and he’s always performed fairly well in an interview setting – but I think I could give a better speech than what he did last night.

The GOP SHOULD be in trouble. What can they say? How can they respond? “…well, we believe in fiscal responsibility…”
