Doom and Gloom…
Read the papers. Read the internet. Watch TV. The doom and gloom is everywhere. We’re all gonna die and we’re gonna be broke when they bury us.
Hogwash.
Our economy is down but during bad economic conditions there are opportunities for small business owners:
1) You can buy stuff cheap. I think that goes without saying. Our expenses for our little businesses have dropped considerably over the past few months.
2) There is less competition. Again – a no brainer. If you can weather some bad times you will probably be able to increase market-share and come away looking pretty good when things turn around.
3) Great excuse to fire unproductive employees. I won’t even get into any details here…
4) Employee loyality. Good employees are generally pretty loyal anyway but during tough economic times with unemployment numbers rising, they tend to become VERY loyal.
5) No frills. We stop the stupid stuff and get back to basics – back to the things we know we can make money with. Those far-fetched ideas we had that probably would cost too much money and not work anyway are finally laid to rest.
There is still over $13 trillion dollars floating around somewhere…it didn’t disappear. It got moved around. Go get some.
