The NEW Economy
We have a new economic climate. Some people and some companies will recognize this and make appropriate changes. Most people and most companies will not. They will continue to do business as usual hoping for the best.
I have been saying for years that relying on one source of revenue / income is not a good plan. Whether you are a small business or an individual I just can’t see this as a good, sound, and reasonable option. Technology changes at the blink of an eye and markets can change even faster. Hoping and praying that what you have now will work – probably isn’t gonna get it.
I’m uncomfortable if we have less than 3-4 sources of income. That doesn’t mean working 90 hours a week. It means working smart. It means having a primary source of income, a secondary source of income, and then the “other” sources of income. It can be done. It can be done quite well.
I’m amazed to see how few people are utilizing websites, blogs, social media, and social networking. I think some of this stuff intimidates people – people have a fear of the unknown – they avoid it. There are ideas and strategies that can help to secure existing income and generate additional income – sound business ideas that involve technology that quite a few individuals and companies have yet to look at.
They will either look at it – or they will unfortunately pay the consequences for sticking their heads in the sand.
