NORTHEAST GEORGIA BLOG

Well she’s here…2009.  Unless you live on the Gaza Strip or maybe in Aspen, it was fairly uneventful.  Those of us who rarely drink during the year had our usual New Years Day hangover…one too many Long Island Ice Tea drinks.

Here are some thoughts about a few things I’d like to see happen in 2009:

1) I didn’t vote for him.  I don’t even particularly like him, but I’d like to see President Obama prove me wrong and do a bang up job in 2009.

2) I hope all of the financial institutions that received some T.A.R.P. money turns things around and they pay every penny back to the Federal Government.

3) I hope the Big Three automakers get it turned around also.  We need these guys to do well – maybe they will start listening to their customers and former customers and deliver quality products at affordable prices.

4) I’d like to see our lakes get back to full pool – our economy here in northeast Georgia suffered from the drought this past summer – bigtime.

5) Osama Bin Laden – captured, filmed, and killed.  Oh I’d love that.

6) Gas prices at the pump under $1.00 — OPEC nations begin economic collapse.

7) Falcons win the Super Bowl.  Matt Ryan MVP.
