I went to my usual voting place today at my usual voting time. 4 years ago I waited in line 1 hour, 45 minutes from get in line to walk out the door. This year I did my usual 1 hour 45 minutes to vote. I'm sure glad I wasn't smart enough to vote early and stand in line for 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 hours. It's also interesting to watch the "seasoned citizen" voter walk up to the computer, stick in their card to activate the machine, cast their votes, hit "submit ballot" and be gone in less than 4 minutes while the first time, less than 21 year old computer nerd kid stands there for 20 minutes moving from hip to hip, foot to foot, staring at the ceiling and reading everything multiple times. Hey, I just got it. It's the reading that slows them down !!!!! It's having to figure out what the words mean rather than just "smiting" them with the Gorgon death ray sword of holy hell retribution. Sorry folks. Liberty ain't free, it ain't easy and I've just learned that it takes a whole lot of patience with the first time practitioner.
