Here are some thoughts regarding our upcoming presidential election. The American public is woefully misinformed. Let’s vote for someone we “like” or someone that is “sexy”. Let’s not vote on the issues. Let’s not look into someone’s background to see who they associate with – let’s listen to Nancy Pelosi and the left wing media. Let’s listen to Hollywood – they know everything, don’t they? Let’s let our children listen to the public school teachers spout their philosophy and let’s not teach our children “the truth” at home. I have been upset at President Bush many times and I think the people he has appointed to head up cabinet posts have been woefully inept but he has not caused everything bad that has happened. And, I believe that our country is safer today than before 9/11. Maybe Iraq was not the biggest threat we had but we had to make a decision and we made that decision based on intelligence we received from our experts. I sincerely believe that Iraq had more weapons of mass destruction, but they had years in which to move these weapons. If I am a drug dealer and the police TELL me they are coming to search my house, I am fairly certain I can move the drugs to another place before they get there. I don’t blame the people in this country for being sick of high prices and job losses. But, the mainstream media has certainly had a lot to do with this, (and the timing could not be better – just before the election!) they have pushed the bad news down people’s throats until most people believed that the sky was falling. I am a small business owner and for Obama to say he will make sure that the “rich” are punished by taxing the devil out of them (anyone making $200,000 or more) scares me. $200,000 sounds like a lot but this will include most small business owners and they are the backbone of our economy. He has also said the number when you are "rich" was $250,000 and now it is $200,000 - what will it be next week. Businesses employ people – that will certainly downsize if the tax structure changes as promised! Small business owners will have to pass part of this extra burden on in higher prices, less employees, less employee benefits, etc. Yes, let’s punish those rich! Evil people!
