Economic Encouragement – Dahlonega
My wife and I did a quickie roadtrip today from Oakwood up to Dahlonega. We were quite surprised to see the town square packed with people – tags from all over Georgia and all over the Southeast!
People were having a good time…and…SPENDING MONEY.
Tourist areas like San Franciso, Las Vegas, New York City, Washington DC, and some of the larger beaches have seen significant declines in business this summer – hopefully areas like northeast Georgia are not as affected – our little area is very close to hundreds of thousands of potential tourists – let’s hope they decide to spend money here in northeast Georgia this year rather than stay home or pack up for DisneyWorld or Las Vegas.
I’m optimistic.
