Clash of cultures?

I’m looking at the devastation those floods have caused in the mid-west and I can’t help but think back to the days following hurricane Katrina - another disaster.
This is going to be a very quick post - I’m trying to avoid too much controversy.
Am I the only person that sees the massive contrast between the citizens that were affected by hurricane Katrina and those citizens affected by these most recent floods? The different “reactions” are stark.
I should say that I’ve not been involved in a hurricane nor have I ever been involved in flooding…I don’t know what I would or wouldn’t do. I can say this…I would hope I’d react like the folks in Iowa and Wisconsin.
I should probably leave it at that.
