Camping…
A couple of years ago we got all fired up about camping. My wife is the level-headed practical person but I’m the guy who goes out and buys tents, sleeping bags, lanterns, screenhouses, backpacks, stoves…every camping gadget known to mankind. I love gadgets.
Anyway we have all of this equipment hidden away in storage, most of it hasn’t been used but a couple of times and it should all be in excellent condition. We have always enjoyed camping but with our busy schedule it’s hard to set aside a long weekend to do something like that.
I’m fired up again.
I’m thinking in a couple of weeks we’ll take off on a Friday morning and head up to one of the campgrounds here in northeast Georgia. I’m still debating where to go – I see where many of the campgrounds today even have WI FI service – imagine that – sitting by the campfire with the laptop blogging away…I know my wife would like that.
Any suggestions would be great – we’ve camped at Vogel, Unicoi, Black Rock Mountain, several of the campgrounds on Lanier, and a few small campgrounds up in the mountains. Of course my wife prefers upgraded facilities – showers, etc…so Vogel and Unicoi are looking like prime prospects.
It’s hard to beat a big fat ribeye cooked at the campsite with some potatoes and onions cooked in the campfire (wrapped in foil)….mmmm…
To be continued…

Dennis, I know your wife. Her idea of “camping” is visiting a Tom Beaudet “leave the light on for ya” campground. Good luck!!!
