Outside NE GA Roadtrips
I’m going to write about this in more detail soon - but there are quite a few options if you are looking for a weekend roadtrip outside of northeast Georgia.
Highlands, NC — not far at all from the Clayton area - great place to do a Saturday trip and spend the night. There are several places to stay and some of the best restaurants you’ll ever find. Beautiful drive.
Gatlinburg, TN — In the heart of the Smokey Mountains - something for everyone to do. Stay at a Days Inn or stay at a Five Star Resort. Eat at McDonalds or eat a steak in lavish settings. I’m a little partial to Gatlinburg, we got married up there in a chalet back in 1986. The place has changed alot since then and we’ve been going back year after year. You can be up there in around 3 hours from the Gainesville area.
We’ll do more of these later - and I’ll do more on these two areas in the near future.
